Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Marrakech to Tacheddirt via Imlil after Starting your day with breakfast in Marrakech

Before embarking on an exciting journey. Depart for Imlil, passing through Asni. Imlil serves as the main trailhead for hikers and is a bustling market town. As we navigate through the valley towards Tacheddirt, approximately 8 kilometers beyond Imlil, we encounter a continuous flow of people descending from the mountains and others gearing up for their adventure. Upon reaching Imlil, our mule team awaits, and after loading our gear, we begin our trek. The trail gradually ascends as we make our way to the Tizi n'Tamatert pass at an elevation of 2,279 meters. Descending from the pass, we arrive at the charming village of Ouaneskra, and after another half-hour trek, we reach Tacheddirt at 2,300 meters. Here, we typically set up camp near the river, offering a picturesque setting. The day concludes with meals included: 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner, totaling approximately 5 to 6 hours of trekking.

Day 2

Tacheddirt to Azib Likemt Embarking on our journey

We traverse the valley, initiating a challenging and gradual ascent towards the Tizi Likemt pass, standing at an elevation of 3,555 meters. The terrain poses its challenges with a substantial presence of loose scree. Reaching the summit, we are rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of the Toubkal massif, marking our first encounter with its magnificence. The subsequent descent leads us through a lengthy downhill trail, culminating in the picturesque village of Azib Likemt, where we set up camp for the night. The day's trek spans a total of 6 to 7 hours.

Day 3

Azib Likemt to Tizi n'Ourai to Amsouzert

Embark on a rewarding journey through diverse landscapes on this extensive yet manageable day. Ascend to Tizi n’Ououraine (3,120m) for panoramic views of the Toubkal massif, with glimpses of the summit, the east face, and the majestic Ifni Dome (3,876m). The trail continues to Amsouzert, a captivating village in the region. Our night is spent in a modest village Gite, offering dormitory-style accommodation. A 7-hour adventure awaits.

Day 4

Amsouzert to Ifni Lake Exploration

Embarking westward from Amsouzert, our journey unfolds through quaint villages nestled amid the rugged landscape. Our destination is the enchanting Ifni Lake, the sole body of water in the massif. The lake, cradled by imposing rocky peaks and colossal heaps of debris, captivates with its remarkable depth. Anticipate reaching the lake by midday, allowing for a leisurely afternoon by its shores. Tonight, our campsite is set in this mesmerizing vicinity, marking a day of exploration and relaxation. Estimated total travel time: 4 to 5 hours.

Day 5

Ifni Lake to Nelter Hut

Having achieved peak fitness and acclimatization, we embark on the most challenging leg of the trek. Ascending a steep path, we conquer an extensive scree slope until reaching the Tizi n'Ouanoums pass (3,664m), a narrow traverse nestled between imposing rock formations. The descent unfolds in a series of zigzags, leading us to Nelter Hut, a mountain refuge where we'll spend the night or opt for camping outside. Anticipate a total duration of 6 to 7 hours for this segment.

Day 6

Mt. Toubkal Summit - Imlil

Embark before dawn on a well-trodden path to Mt. Toubkal's summit, anticipating a 2-3 hour ascent. In favorable conditions, relish panoramic vistas of the entire Atlas range and the Marrakech plains. Descend swiftly to the villages of Sidi Chamharouch and Aremd, tracing the Mizane River through lush forests until reaching the trailhead at Imlil. Conclude the day with a car journey to Marrakech for those staying there. Total duration: 9 to 10 hours.
